Vacancy Service
The Connexions Service helps young people to enter the world of work. In Medway, Connexions services are delivered by the charitable company Medway Youth Trust. We provide information, advice and guidance to young people aged 13 to 19, and up to the age of 25 for those who have learning difficulties and disabilities.
Did you know? In June 2009, we hosted National Tyre’s young apprentice interviews at our Chatham base.
We place great importance on working with local and national employers, helping you to develop strategies for recruiting highly motivated young people who are looking for work and apprenticeship opportunities.
Whether you are looking to fill a full or part time vacancy, we offer a fast, friendly and efficient recruitment service to companies of all sizes and what’s more it’s totally free!
Our service includes:
- an opportunity to discuss your company’s requirements and agree vacancy details
- helping to match young people to specific occupations and vacancies
- information on current legislation of employing young people and National Minimum Wage
- free use of our meeting rooms to conduct job interviews (subject to availability)
- information on training options including apprenticeships – we can also put you in contact with local training providers.
- regular contact with you until the recruitment process is finalised
All that we ask in return is that you let us know the details of any young person you employ. This enables us to record their employment for our government compliant data base.
Voluntary Opportunities
Many of the young people we work with are keen to take on voluntary work in their free time, to gain valuable experience and progress their personal development. If you would like to promote volunteer opportunities with us, free of charge, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
