What’s this All About?
Colleges of Further Education offer a broad range of qualifications from practical vocational qualifications linked to career areas (eg; construction, engineering, leisure and business (and many more)), to traditional GCSEs and A Level programmes. Different levels of qualification are offered so there are opportunities to suit you whatever the level of qualifications you have achieved in the past.
While you are studying you may qualify for an Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) that will give you up to £30 per week depending on your circumstances. Look at this link for more information http://ema.direct.gov.uk/
If you are in financial difficulty, most colleges also have a Learner Support Fund that you can apply to for help with things you need for college. For more information you should contact Student Services at the college.
